$250 Free AdWords Coupon (New Accounts)

by Mark E. Mason on January 10, 2009

It's Free Stuff Friday again, and time for the Friday Freebie.

OK -- well, actually it is Saturday. I was out most of the day today (had to drive from Dallas to Austin and back today -- yuck).

I just noticed on twitter that our friends over at Google are offering $250 of free Adwords Advertising for new accounts.

Try Google AdWords with $250 in free advertising.

Kick off an AdWords campaign today with $250 in your account. AdWords lets you reach people at the moment they're searching for what you offer. Your $250 credit is a great way to try this accountable advertising medium free of charge. Offer ends January 31, 2009.

Enjoy.

Hello,

I own a news blog from Serbia,Europe, can i have this free coupon so i can promote my website.

Thank.

Adwords is a really great tool for promoting your website, forum or affiliate link. the ppc cost of adwords is even cheaper than Friendster or Facebook. before, i used to advertise on facebook but the ROI is so low. Adwords gives me a much better ROI compared to Facebook ads.

I set up my Adwords account about 4 weeks ago and never received any coupon at all.
For a newbie like me a free coupon would have been very helpful, just to try it out at least.
But now I'm not sure if I will take the risk of losing money without getting a chance to try it for free at first.

Adwords is really good for promoting a product that you want to sell online. It is very important that you geoatarget your intended audience so as to avoid wasting your advertising funds.

I have been using Adwords for the last 2 years and i can only say that it increased my online sales by about 20%. The pay per click cost of Adwords is even cheaper than Adbrite. I love Adwords.

I have tried to apply this coupon, but it seems not to work if there is no money at your balance yet. What does it matter? Why does this coupon not work for me? Any suggestions?

Adwords is really great for promoting your website and also affiliate links. i have just passed the Google Adwords Professional exam today and i am very happy.

Ohh :( I missed this promo :-s

Wow, I wish I'd seen this last month Mark. Just one one reason to subscribe to your RSS! Thanks

I was so excited about this. I signed up, waited for an email....nothing. checked into it, realized you need the promo code first. i wonder if they are sending out any promo codes to new accounts or how they determine who gets a promo code.

Bummed but hopeful

ok- thanks for the info. Ruby. Good thing I didn't kick off my mail order Cialus campaign just yet.

I read at warrior forums that you must already have a promotional code for you to get the $250 when you create a new account...

Ruby -- looks like you are right. You apparently need a coupon that came through snail mail.

You have to have the coupon code FIRST. If you do not have the coupon code already you are not going to magically get one. They don't send it to you after you sign up...

This promotion was for targeted mailings where individuals were sent unique coupon codes.

It does not matter if you use a "new credit card" or whatever... you are going to end up with no bonus credit anyway since you do not have the unique coupon code.

In other words you ain't getting nuthin' just for signing up with that link.

Bummer. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, Mark, we are having trouble...i created a campaign, but still to receive their mailer even for a brand new account..some thing fishy in the ad

@Kent
Thanks for investigating! Still nothing on my end, but I sent Google two inquiries into the matter. I paused my campaigns for now -- boy, it doesn't take long for those suckers to rack up a charge, but then again, I'm rather tight with my money. :)

Sorry you guys are having trouble. This sounds so easy from the Google web page.

Ok Mark (Sierra) - I still have received no promo. code and trying to contact Google adwords appears impossible. Their faq's are very circuitous - and I don't see a solution there....

Hey Mark - sorry I missed your question. I stopped before entering billing info. Let me go back and see if I do get a promo. code with the billing info. It did appear confusing.

Hey Mark, thanks for the tip. I just signed up, too.

@Kent
How long did it take for you to get the promotional code? I didn't create my campaign until after I entered other billing information, so I'm wondering if I screwed things up by going out of sequence.

Thanks Mark - I set my account up today - finally.
