Niche Site Update #5 – Confessions

by Mark Mason on October 28, 2010

One of the major challenges of being a part time internet entrepreneur, at least as far as I’m concerned, is managing multiple projects.

My confession to you is that after getting off to a pretty good start on the Niche Site Duel I have completely ignored since my last update two months ago. Of course, this is not surprising. Having a full time job and a part time internet business in addition to four kids and a beautiful wife leaves me pretty busy.

In my last report we were talking about how amazing it was that the site (for no apparent reason) was ranking on the first page of Google for the keyword I had selected, "learn guitar basics." At the time I mentioned that I felt like this was part of the rank and tank phenomenon common with blogs.

Often times when you start a new blog it will go to the top of the rankings briefly only to fall later. My theory on this is that Google very briefly gives a lot of weight to brand new content on the internet to see if it will go viral in terms of backlinks. If this doesn’t happen Google will drop the site out of the rankings.

Plug And Play Niche Cash Review

by Mark Mason on May 18, 2010

I am very excited to announce the release of Plug and Play Niche Cash from Andrew Hansen today at noon E.S.T. -- that is in less than 10 hours from now.  The basic premise of Plug and Play (PnP) Niche Cash is that there is a big difference in teaching people how to do niche marketing versus actually doing a big chunk of the work for them.

In this product, Andrew tries to deal with the number one problem people face when getting started online -- what niche to choose and what keywords to attack.

by Mark E. Mason March 30, 2010

I am secretly testing two new semi-automated backlinking tools, so I have had “links on the brain” this week.  (Don’t worry – I will be revealing at least one of them to you in the next few days.) I know I sound like a broken record, but this deserves to be repeated.  If you want [...]

by Mark E. Mason January 5, 2010

Yesterday, I spent some time sharing one of my favorite article topic tricks — searching for a topic and the words “how to” — like “wordpress how to” (without the quotes). Automatic Web Site – Jon Leger Case Study

by Mark E. Mason April 8, 2009

A few weeks ago, I talked about my experience writing copy for sales pages and promised a post about how to split test different elements on the page.  I had that post about half written, and then I saw that Spaulding had written a post on Google Website Optimizer.   So, since that was exactly what [...]
