Articles On Motivation Graphic

And now for a Motivational Monday post on Tuesday!

Last week, I wrote a post about how to create a blog, but I did not really talk about why you might want to create one.  There are obvious "internet marketing" reasons, like affiliate marketing product promotion.  There are also other popular reasons, like carving out a space on the internet to talk about something that you care about.  You could create a blog to promote your business or product.  The uses for a blog and the reasons to create one are limited only by your imagination.

But in the context of Motivational Monday, a great reason to create a blog is "Motivation."

Motivational Tip #30 – Create a Personal Slogan

by Mark Mason on April 18, 2011

Articles On Motivation GraphicMy experience is that sometimes we can get so lost in the details of what we are trying to accomplish, we forget why we are doing it in the first place.  Yet, the reason for moving forward is usually our best motivational tool.

Now, this might sound silly, but have you considered creating a personal slogan for your life and goals? What is that you want most? Do you want to travel the world? Do you want to become financially secure or independently wealthy? Do you want to attain a certain type of lifestyle for your family members?

All of these things can go into your personal slogan. Just think about what it is that you want to do; and then make it a slogan. Whenever you’re tired and dispirited, remind yourself of your slogan and what it means to you.

I’ve used a couple of slogans over the last three years.  One, I “borrowed” from Nicole Dean – “Making the internet a better place.”   Another I stole from someone (Could have been Bob The Teacher; I honestly cannot remember) – “Helping people profitably.”  And of course, there is my tag line:  Building Internet Businesses One Night at a Time.

Maybe [...]

by Mark Mason October 18, 2010

Another reason why we often fail to accomplish our internet business goals is that we fear rejection. For instance, when it’s time to write a blog post or create a product, we simply might not be able to do it. In the back of our minds, we know it is a good idea, but at [...]

Motivational Tip #22 – Enjoy Your Life

by Mark Mason September 20, 2010

This shouldn’t need to be said, but often it does: if you don’t enjoy what you do on a regular basis, then you’re going to have a very difficult time achieving your goals. The reason for this should be obvious: even if you “know” you should be working towards your goals, the pain and discomfort [...]

Motivational Tip #20 – Tell Others About Your Goals

by Mark Mason August 9, 2010

When it comes to accomplishing your goals and staying motivated, it is important to employ “commitment devices.” A commit device is any strategy that will give strong incentives to adhere to your commitment, even when there is no third party enforcing that commitment. One good commitment device you can employ is to get others involved [...]

Motivational Tip #19 – Think in Shades of Gray

by Mark Mason August 2, 2010

Often, when we think about goals, we either think “either I will accomplish this goal in one week or I will never accomplish it at all.” Unfortunately, things don’t always work out this way. More often then not, we’ll run into a snag when we attempt to accomplish goals; and we’ll need to reformulate our [...]
